The Pressure - Hydraulist alpha

Description

Class Stats +Skill + Vigor + (Intelligence or Luck).
A hybrid mechanist and sorcerer whose magic is mediated through fluids, pressure and plumbing. The Hydraulist bends water (and other liquids) to lift, cut, restrain or redirect forces — building temporary pipework, creating pressurized jets, and weaponizing soaked materials. Plays as a battlefield controller and utility specialist: mobility through pressurized bursts and pipes, area denial, disruption of enemy attacks, and creative traversal or item production from pipes.

Backpack with a large tank and spraying nozzle that stores any liquid. Allows a Low Duration hover while expending its entire contents. Refills quickly near a liquid source and may slowly refill allied water-powered devices.

Pipe Wrench

Base

A small but hefty wrench that can be unscrewed to fit any fluid-holding object; turning it reverses the direction of fluids inside connected vessels. Striking terrain with it can produce a spout that projects liquid toward the struck surface.

Super Soaker

Base

Variable-pressure water gun with settings from irritating spray to bruising, pushback-level blasts. Impact scales with the amount of water expended.

Flex Tape (Elective)

Elective

Roll of flexible vinyl tape that immediately waterproofs whatever it is applied to. Containers sealed with it slowly refill themselves.

Water Cutter (Elective)

Handheld device that projects an incredibly sharp water blade up to 4 feet, able to quickly cut most inorganic matter. Consumes its internal tank quickly, depleting after a Low Duration.

Anchor Cannon (Elective)

Elective

Heavy cannon gauntlet that fires a single chained anchor which latches onto surfaces and holds steadfast. The chain can extend nearly indefinitely; the effective weight of the anchor scales dramatically with the distance it travels.

Pressurize

Cost: Mid–High
Cooldown: Low.
Drastically ease or increase the pressure exerted on a nearby body of fluid.
Paired Action: feel out the fluid and physically guide it towards its new state

  • Cost scales with how strongly the pressure is changed and how much pressure there is to begin with
    • May even solidify/gasifiy it with enough input but not compress beyond just solid and not expand beyond just gasified
  • Applying it on living beings will drastically slow down this ability

Layin' Pipe

Connect sources of liquid to a chosen target by tracing a path with water

Cost: Low–Mid
Cooldown: Mid
Max Range: Mid.

Paired Action: Trace the path with water.

  • Magical pipes instantly appear along the path; cost scales with total distance.
  • Pipes force high-speed flow and can include intermediate outlets (simple faucets) or a final fitting that can produce things from inside the pipe regardless of ordinary plausibility. - The pipe's diameter is large enough for characters to travel inside; traveling makes them reappear at the other end nearly instantly.

Super Soaked

Dampen a target's offensive capabilities and interrupt their current action

  • Target's attacks are converted to water or 'water-ified' when they connect, generally making them less effective; physical weapon strikes (blades, bullets, etc.) become water on impact, and the affected
  • Target becomes more susceptible to magic or energy attacks.
